2025 Mustang Shelby GT350 — Reimagining an American Classic
Returning to the performance scene after a long hiatus, the Mustang Shelby GT350 is back, but with an important twist. With Ford’s name gone from the model, the 2025 Shelby Mustang GT350 is an exclusive of Shelby American, which teamed up with Turn Key Automotive/Motorsports on the project, unlike the previous iterations built with Ford’s backing. This is a departure from the past, with the Shelby GT350 Mustang in its purest state.
Shelby GT350 Mustang Enters a New Era
Two high-performance variants are found on the 2025 Shelby GT350 Mustang. More specifically, the supercharged variant: a Whipple supercharger bolted behind the 5.0-liter Coyote engine, slapping down a stout 810 hp. With 480 horsepower, the standard version appeals to those who prefer a naturally aspirated engine. There is also an even-more track-ready edition, the GT350R, with an astonishing 830 hp.
It’s not only power that sets the GT350R apart from its GT350 sibling; it’s breeding. The most extreme example of the M3 to date is the R variant, which features an integrated roll cage, fully adjustable suspension, Alcon racing brakes, and a carbon fiber interior — essentially made for that track day but street-legal at the same time. Shelby notes on its website that this model is “built to handle the rigorous demands of competitive racing” thanks to its relationship with partner Turn Key Automotive.
Shelby Mustang GT350 Performance and Design Upgrades
Shelby will have updated the suspension of the Mustang Shelby GT350 to find the perfect balance between performance and comfort. Vince LaViolette, Shelby’s Vice President of Operations and Senior Designer, noted that the GT350’s suspension is tuned for optimal handling while achieving day-to-day comfort. As functional as it is aggressive, the styling has the look of a Shelby Mustang GT350 that is impossible to mistake for anything else.
The Shelby GT350 Mustang both looks fast and is designed to move. Shelby also plastered the car with branding, both inside and out, including “Shelby Performance” on the intake cover.
Mustang Shelby GT350 Pricing and Availability
The 2025 Mustang Shelby GT350 will be a limited production model, just 562 units will be produced to match the number of original GT350s built in 1965. On top of that, there is another 36 GT350R units planned for track enthusiasts. The supercharged GT350 starts at $104,999, and we haven’t seen any pricing announced yet for the naturally aspirated version or for the GT350R.
These vehicles will be available only through Shelby-authorized Ford dealers in the U.S. and will still include a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty, along with Ford’s powertrain warranty.
