Facelifted BYD E6 MPV To Be Called eMax7 In India

BYD India has announced that the upcoming facelifted e6 MPV will be renamed the BYD eMax7. This updated model is expected to be launched in India in early October.

The BYD eMax7, previously known as the BYD M6 in markets like Indonesia, features a refreshed exterior design with revised headlamp and tail-lamp units, along with additional chrome accents. The front and rear bumpers have also been redesigned for a more modern look.

Inside the cabin, the eMax7 boasts a larger 12.8-inch floating touchscreen, compared to the 10.1-inch screen in the existing model. Other notable interior updates include a revised center console with wireless charging pads, new switchgear, and a new drive selector lever. While the dashboard layout remains largely unchanged, the steering wheel has been redesigned.

In terms of powertrain and specifications, the BYD eMax7 offers two battery pack options: a 55.4kWh unit with a claimed range of 420 kilometers and a 71.8kWh unit with a claimed range of 530 kilometers. The larger battery pack delivers 204 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque, compared to the 163 horsepower and 310 Nm of the smaller battery pack.

The BYD eMax7 is expected to be priced at a premium over the current e6 model, which is currently available at Rs 29.15 lakh (ex-showroom). As an electric MPV, the eMax7 has no direct competitors in the Indian market.
