has announced the pricing of the new 2024 Swift S-CNG model in the Indian market. The car starts at Rs 8.19 Lakh (ex-showroom) for the VXi CNG trim. The new CNG-fitted Swift has been launched hot on the heels of the petrol-powered car in May earlier this year. The new Swift S-CNG mileage has gone up by 6% compared to the previous car, and now stands at 32.85 kilometers per kilogram. For the record, previously Maruti claimed a fuel efficiency of 30.9 km/kg. The new Swift CNG rivals will include the cars such as the Tata Tiago CNG and the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS CNG hatchbacks.
The car major has also quoted that they have also successfully trimmed down the CO2 emissions by 6% in the new-gen Swift CNG. The company’s ‘Maruti Suzuki Subscribe’ program offers a convenient way to own the new Swift S-CNG, with all-inclusive monthly subscription fees starting from Rs 21,628. The car will initially be made available in the state of Gujarat followed by the rest of the regions.

The new Swift S-CNG has been introduced in three trims – VXi CNG, VXi (O) CNG and ZXi CNG. While the VXi trim has been priced at 8.19 Lakh, the VXi (O) CNG costs Rs 8.46 Lakh, and the ZXi CNG will set you back by Rs 9.19 Lakh (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
The car comes plonked with the Z-series Dual VVT engine responsible for delivering a maximum power of 101 PS at 5,700 rpm and a peak torque of 101.8 Nm at 2900 rpm. The gearbox used here is a 5-speed MT unit.

In the previous fiscal year, Maruti Suzuki sold an impressive 4,77,000 CNG vehicles, accounting for approximately every fourth vehicle sold by the company. This remarkable achievement highlights the strong demand for CNG-powered cars in the Indian market.
The current fiscal year has seen a continuation of this trend, with CNG vehicles comprising every third vehicle sold from April to August. Based on this performance, Maruti Suzuki is targeting total sales of 6,00,000 CNG vehicles for the entire fiscal year.
Regional Distribution
The top five markets for CNG vehicles in India are Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi, collectively accounting for 70% of Maruti Suzuki’s CNG sales. Other key markets include Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana, contributing 23% to the total sales.
