Is Nissan Gravite N-Connecta Automatic Most Value For Money Variant Under Rs 8 Lakh?

Nissan Gravite N-Connecta Mid-Variant Features Explainer

With new 5-seater compact SUVs flooding the market over the last decade, the focus on 7-seater family cars in the economy segment has been minimal, with some popular options dominating the segment with next to no innovation. As part of its renewed focus on India, Nissan has recently launched the Gravite 7-seater budget MPV to address the gap at an attractive starting price of Rs 5.65 lakh ex-showroom. With five trim levels on offer, let’s take a quick look at the N-Connecta mid-variant of the Gravite, which offers the convenience of an automatic gearbox and a healthy dose of features to keep the passengers comfortable and entertained.

While the base Visia variant could be a no-brainer for budget-conscious buyers or fleet operators, the mid-level N-Connecta variant offers some upmarket packaging elements to suit family car buyers. The biggest highlight of this variant is that it offers the EZ Shift AMT automatic gearbox under the Rs 8 lakh budget, at Rs 7.80 lakh ex-showroom. Nissan is further keeping powertrain options simple by offering a single engine option, which is the 1.0-litre, 999cc petrol engine that produces 70 hp and 96 Nm of torque in both petrol and AMT automatic versions.

Coming to the aesthetic and comfort-related elements of the N-Connecta variant, it covers all feel-good basics. It comes with the projector headlamps, LED turn indicators on ORVMs, functional roof rails with 50 kg capacity, door cladding decals, dual-tone suede and fabric seats, cooled glove box, rear camera with guidelines, 4-speaker audio, all four power windows, rear wiper and washer, window defogger and a cooled centre console.

These features in the Gravite N-Connecta variant are in addition to the elements that come with the base Visia and Acenta variants. Which means it also includes 14-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, silver skid plates, piano-black ORVMs and accents, an independent rear AC unit with vents in the 2nd and 3rd rows, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, steering-mounted controls, remote central locking, and more.

In terms of safety, Nissan has ensured that the Gravite offers over 30 safety features as standard equipment across all variants. These include 6 airbags, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, traction control system, hill start assist and more.

This means that at under Rs 8 lakh, the Gravite’s N-Connecta variant offers immense value for money for family car buyers, as it brings a good balance of comfort features along with the convenience of an automatic gearbox. Those who want the extra bells and whistles of the top Tekna variant, such as the LED headlamps, front parking sensors, 15-inch wheels and more, will need to upgrade to the Tekna trim level. The Tekna variant lineup starts from Rs 7.91 lakh ex-showroom, which is marginally higher but then you lose out on the automatic gearbox.
