Hyundai Motor India has quietly added another milestone to its long journey in the country as in February 2026, the company recorded total sales of 66,134 units, which is its highest-ever sales figure for the month of February since it began operations in India.

Compared to February last year, Hyundai’s total sales have grown by 12.6%. In the automobile industry, double-digit year-on-year growth is considered healthy, especially at a time when competition is high and customers have more choices than ever before.

Out of the total 66,134 units sold in February 2026, domestic sales contributed 52,407 units, which marks a 9.8% growth over February 2025 and stands as Hyundai’s highest-ever domestic February sales, which means more Indian families bought Hyundai car last month than in any February in the company’s history.

Exports also played a major role in this strong performance as Hyundai shipped 13,727 units to overseas markets in February 2026 which registered 24.8% year-on-year growth. This rise in exports shows that cars made in India are increasingly finding buyers across global markets.

Commenting on the results, Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO of Hyundai Motor India Limited, said the company kicked off 2026 on a high note after achieving its highest-ever monthly sales in January, and the momentum has continued into February. As Hyundai approaches 30 years in India, the company’s ambition remains clear, to make advanced connected technology accessible to more customers while enhancing the overall ownership experience.

The Indian car market itself is evolving and buyers today are not just looking for transportation; they want comfort, safety, fuel efficiency and smart features. The growing popularity of SUVs, premium hatchbacks and connected vehicles reflects this shift. Hyundai has positioned itself strongly in these segments, which partly explains its consistent growth.

Crossing the 66,000-unit mark in February, which is traditionally not the busiest month in the auto calendar and this suggests that demand remains steady. It also indicates improving consumer confidence and stable market conditions. As Hyundai moves closer to completing 30 years in India, its February 2026 performance tells that the brand is not just maintaining its presence, but it is strengthening it.
