CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: Shiv Sena (UBT) workers on Friday staged a protest alleging acute domestic and commercial LPG shortage and black marketing in the city, prompting police to register an offence.Led by party leader and former MLC opposition leader Ambadas Danve, the protesters submitted memorandums to 23 gas agencies, questioning them over overcharging and irregular supply. They demanded uninterrupted availability of cylinders, sale strictly at govt-fixed rates, immediate curb on black marketing, timely home delivery, and quick redressal of consumer complaints.During the protest, the workers intercepted a Bharat Gas vehicle in Mayur Park, allegedly involved in illegal sale of LPG in a residential area. Acting on the complaint, police inspector Swati Khade-Kedar registered a case for unauthorised sale and overpricing. The vehicle was reportedly caught by Shiv Sena functionary Balasaheb Thorat.Later, a delegation met district collector Dileep Swami, warning of intensified protests if the shortage persists.
