  • Underseat storage rises to 24.6 litres and now fits a full-face helmet
  • Prices start at Rs. 1,01,944, while the Burgman Street EX stays on sale

Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the 2026 Burgman Street updating across design, features, comfort and performance for this maxi-style 125cc scooter. With more than 1.1 million units already sold in India, the Burgman Street has built a strong place for itself, and this latest version builds on it as a premium family scooter.

The new Burgman Street has been launched in two variants. The Ride Connect Edition is priced at Rs. 1,01,944 ex-showroom Delhi, while the Ride Connect TFT Edition costs Rs. 1,13,220 ex-showroom Delhi. Suzuki will also continue to sell the earlier Burgman Street EX alongside the new model at Rs. 1,07,902 ex-showroom.

The new scooter follows a sleek and modern theme with familiar overall shape but now with cleaner detailing and a more premium finish. New elements include body-mounted split-lens LED headlights with integrated position lights, compact LED indicators, an updated LED tail-lamp, metallic-finish emblems, a dark smoked windscreen, and a more stylish upswept muffler.

Suzuki has retained the long and wide footboard, which allows riders to stretch their legs more easily and settle into a relaxed riding posture. The seat is long as well, with enough room for both rider and pillion. One of the more useful upgrades is the larger underseat storage area, which has grown from 21.5 litres to 24.6 litres and can now take a full-face helmet.

Scooter gets two front storage compartments, a USB charging outlet, dual utility hooks, centre stand and side stand as standard. The keyless system, available on the higher trim, comes with a remote fob and includes integrated control for seat opening, steering lock, and fuel lid lock. There is also Suzuki Easy Start System with one-push start, which is meant to make everyday use smoother. On the TFT variant, buyers also get a 4.2-inch connected TFT display with turn-by-turn navigation through the Burgman Street app.

Suzuki’s SEP Suzuki Eco Performance engine platform is derived from the successful Access line. The 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor produces 8.2bhp at 6,500rpm and 10.2Nm of torque. That torque figure is up from the earlier model’s 9.8Nm, and Suzuki says the CVT has been revised to improve response in the 30-60kmph speed range.

The engine now starts more quietly with the use of a roller-type one-way clutch, while the new exhaust muffler has been tuned to cut high-frequency noise and produce a deeper, cleaner note. These are not dramatic talking points on their own, but together they suggest a more polished riding experience. The new Burgman Street also uses a lightweight and rigid underbone frame that is said to be around 500g lighter and 25 per cent stiffer in torsional rigidity.
