Hero Splendor+ and HF Deluxe E85 Flex Fuel Range Get Rs. 4,000 Discount

Hero MotoCorp is offering discounts on its E85 flex-fuel commuter motorcycles, the Splendor+ Flex Fuel and HF Deluxe Flex Fuel. As part of a limited-period scheme, customers can avail a discount of Rs. 4,000 on both motorcycles, making them more accessible to buyers interested in alternative-fuel technology.

This brings down the price of the Splendor+ and HF Deluxe Flex Fuel versions to Rs. 78,710 and Rs. 68,792 (ex-showroom), respectively. The offer comes at a time when the government is actively promoting ethanol-based fuels and has recently approved regulations for E100 fuel norms. While the Splendor+ and HF Deluxe Flex Fuel models are currently designed to run on ethanol-blended fuels, the discount is likely aimed at boosting awareness and adoption of flex-fuel motorcycles in the country.

Mechanically, both motorcycles are based on their standard petrol-powered counterparts but feature modifications that allow them to operate on fuel blends containing a much higher percentage of ethanol. These changes include ethanol-compatible fuel system components and revised engine calibration to accommodate the different combustion characteristics of ethanol-based fuels.

The Hero Splendor+ Flex Fuel is powered by a 97.2cc, single-cylinder, E85-compatible engine that produces 8.4bhp and 8.3Nm, while the HF Deluxe Flex Fuel uses the same powertrain. Apart from the flex-fuel capability and unique graphics, the motorcycles remain largely identical to their conventional versions.

Despite being among the first flex-fuel motorcycles on sale in India, the Splendor+ Flex Fuel and HF Deluxe Flex Fuel are niche offerings in the country. The latest discount could help attract cost-conscious commuters who are curious about alternative fuels but hesitant to pay a premium for the technology.
