All Maruti Suzuki Arena Cars Now Standard With 6 Airbags

All cars are now equipped with 6 airbags as standard. The automaker made this announcement today through an official press statement. The Indo-Japanese automaker operates two retail chains in India: Arena and Nexa. Maruti uses its Arena network to sell budget models such as the Brezza, WagonR, Alto K10, Celerio, and Eeco. Meanwhile, the Nexa chain retails premium models such as the Grand Vitara, XL6, Baleno, Jimny, and Invicto.

The step taken by to introduce six airbags as a standard feature in their Arena cars is proactive. The law mandates that all vehicles manufactured in India should be equipped with dual airbags. A proposal for mandating 6 airbags was floated by the government. But after industry inputs, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways rolled it back. Since then, several cars in India have been introduced with 6 airbags as standard.

Besides 6 airbags, Maruti Suzuki Arena models come with several other . These include ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Hill-Hold Assist.
