Ampere Reo 80 Unveiled: Affordable Electric Mobility

Greaves Electric Mobility Limited has introduced the new Ampere Reo 80, a new low-speed electric scooter. This vehicle is aimed at first-time EV users, students, older riders, and families. With a price of ₹59,900 (ex-showroom), it is an affordable introduction to electric mobility. At the same time, the company wants to push forward its “Har Gully Electric” vision nationwide in India.

Greaves Electric Mobility recorded a phenomenal 52% month-on-month growth in March 2025. They sold more than 6,000 electric scooters, illustrating strong demand in the marketplace. Now, on the verge of this launch, Ampere marks its place in the affordable EV space. Deliveries are slated to start nationwide in April 2025.

Ampere Reo 80 Highlights

The scooter is slim and features that work for everyday drivers. This includes a colored LCD instrument console that displays all the necessary ride information. It also offers a valet key with keyless start. The buyers will be offered multiple colors, including dual-tone black with red, dual-tone black with blue, dual-tone white with red, and dual-tone black with white in the color palette of the Car.

To ensure confident stopping power, Ampere provides the Reo 80 with a front disc brake. Luxurious alloy wheels add to its style too. And unlike many vehicles, this low-speed scooter is capped at 25 kmph, and doesn’t require a license or registration. As a result, it works with a broad swath of riders.

The Ampere Reo 80 is powered by a single charge for up to 80 km. This range is sufficient for short commutes. In addition, the scooter utilizes a safe LFP battery, which can last long and offers thermal stability. While Ampere doesn’t disclose other charging details, it does say the common use.

According to K. Vijaya Kumar, the Executive Director & CEO of Greaves Electric Mobility, they are excited. “Our goal is to make everyone in India embrace electric mobility,” he added. His vision inspires Ampere’s mission to provide affordable options that drivers can depend on. Hence, the Reo 80 fits so beautifully into this objective.
