At the ongoing Times Now Summit 2024, Maruti’s Senior Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales), Shashank Srivastava addressed several hot topics around India’s largest carmaker including , company’s , changing automotive trends and the future of electric vehicles in India.
On the sidelines of the event, Srivastava was also asked about his ‘favourite non-Maruti car’, to which he replied wittingly that even though he has biasness towards Maruti Suzuki, Audi TT has always been one of his favourites. “Audi TT has always been my favourite since the beginning,” he quoted.
Srivastava further added that he loves to drive all the Maruti cars, and makes sure to take all the new ones for a spin as soon as they hit the market. “Whenever there is a new car in the market, I always make it a point to test-drive,” he added.
The Audi TT is a sports coupe which debuted in 1998 and is one of the most iconic and recognizable design in the automotive industry. It spanned across three generations and was discontinued last year, after a 25-year production run to make way for future electric offerings from the German manufacturer. The Audi TT was designed by J Mays and Freeman Thomas. It was named after the popular race, the Isle of Man TT. The Audi TT was made using laser beam welding technology and was also one of the first cars to incorporate the use of a dual-clutch transmission.
