Bajaj Auto‘s groundbreaking launch of the world’s first CNG-powered motorcycle, the Freedom 125, has garnered impressive sales. Within two months of its introduction, the Freedom 125 has surpassed 5,000 units in retail sales.
Initially available in Maharashtra and Gujarat, the Freedom 125’s availability has been expanded to 77 towns and cities across India, including major metropolitan areas and smaller towns. This expansion has contributed to a surge in sales, particularly after August 15.

The Freedom 125 offers a compelling proposition for consumers seeking an affordable and environmentally friendly commuting option. Its CNG tank provides a range of over 200 kilometers, while the 2-liter petrol tank acts as a range extender. This dual-fuel capability ensures a combined range of over 330 kilometers.
In terms of fuel efficiency, the Freedom 125 delivers impressive results, with a claimed operating cost reduction of up to 50 percent compared to traditional ICE motorcycles. Additionally, it boasts significantly lower emissions, contributing to a more sustainable transportation solution.
Bajaj Auto is capitalizing on the growing demand for the Freedom 125 by ramping up production to meet customer expectations. The company aims to increase production from 10,000 units in the initial months to around 30,000-40,000 units by the end of FY2025.
With the festive season approaching, Bajaj is poised to further capitalize on the popularity of the Freedom 125.
