Bimota Unveils its First Enduro Motorcycle

  • Based on the Kawasaki KX450X
  • BX gets different bodywork and other subtle changes
  • Scheduled to reach European dealerships in May 2026

Italian two-wheeler brand Bimota has entered the world of enduro motorcycles with the new BX450. It is based on the existing Kawasaki KX450X, which is the case with a few other Bimotas as well, as the Japanese brand has owned Bimota since 2019.

While the engine and frame of the BX450 are the same as the KX450X, Bimota has given the bike its own design and a few other changes. The BX looks more retro with a petite headlamp and a triple-tone colour combination comprising red, white, and black. Making it look swankier is the red seat with ‘Bimota’ branding.

The technical changes over the Kawasaki include an Athena GET ECU with fuel injection settings designed specifically for the Bimota. It also gets two engine maps on the ECU, 10 traction control settings, and a launch control mode that can be accessed via a controller on the handlebar. Further, it rides on Metzeler MCE Six Days Extreme Supersoft tyres, an Akrapovic titanium silencer, and a smaller auxiliary fuel tank. To make it suitable for racing, Bimota will also offer a bunch of performance accessories.

As for the main technical specifications, the BX450 is powered by Kawasaki’s 449cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine. It rides on 21-18-inch wheels suspended by 49mm Showa USD forks with compression and rebound adjustability at the front. The rear, meanwhile, gets Uni-Trak gas-charged monoshock with full adjustability. A single disc with Brembo callipers take care of the speed shedding duties.

The Bimota BX450 will start reaching European dealerships from May this year, with prices starting from £10,599 (approximately Rs. 13.1 Lakh).
