Jhansi: Acting on the orders of the district magistrate under section 14 (1) of the Gangsters Act, a joint team of police and revenue department officials attached movable and immovable properties worth Rs 32 crore belonging to a businessman on Tuesday. According to SSP Jhansi BBGTS Murthy, the team reached 116 farmland and various residential and commercial properties held by property dealer Ramesh Chandra Gupta, who also engages in other business ventures. Following formal proclamation, the authorities sealed properties and pasted a notice. Bank accounts and vehicles owned by two were also seized by the police. Ramesh Chandra Gupta has nine ongoing criminal cases registered against him, while his son Harshit Gupta faces three criminal cases in different police stations. tnn
