BMW Group India Achieves Record-Breaking Year-to-Date Sales for 2023

In a year where electric vehicles have taken center stage, BMW Group India is making headlines by achieving its best-ever year-to-date sales in 2023, across all three of its esteemed brands: BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad. From January to September, a total of 9,580 cars, including both BMW and MINI models, hit the road, along with 6,778 BMW Motorrad motorcycles. BMW led the charge with 8,998 units, while MINI made a significant contribution with 582 units.

BMW EVs Witnessed 5-Fold Increase In Demand

The EV revolution is unmistakably underway, and BMW’s electric offerings, including the BMW iX1, BMW i7, BMW iX, BMW i4, and MINI SE, have witnessed a five-fold increase in demand compared to the same period in the previous year. Notably, the BMW iX has emerged as the most sought-after luxury electric vehicle in India.

BMW ICE-Models That Witnessed The Most Demand

Flagship models from the BMW stable, such as the BMW 7 Series, BMW i7, BMW X7, and BMW XM, have reported remarkable year-on-year growth of 102%. The ultra-luxurious BMW 7 Series has taken the spotlight, capturing the attention of discerning customers. Meanwhile, the BMW X7, a high-end Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), has seen its demand nearly double, underlining its popularity among the luxury SUV aficionados.

BMW Group India is basking in the glow of its best-ever sales performance, with 8,998 units sold, marking a 10% increase. What’s more, over 50% of the year-to-date sales volumes have been contributed by BMW Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV).

The introduction of the electric BMW X1 (iX1) and the strong response to the new BMW X5 in Q3 have further fueled the SAV sales.

MINI Sales In 2023

MINI, the epitome of style and compact luxury, also reported record sales figures, delivering 582 units, reflecting a 10% increase. The locally produced MINI Countryman was a front-runner, commanding a 63% share, while the iconic MINI Hatch contributed 17% of the total sales. The electric MINI 3-Door Cooper SE also played a pivotal role, contributing to 17% of the sales.

BMW Motorrad Sales In 2023

Two-wheeler enthusiasts have not been forgotten, as BMW Motorrad, the brand’s two-wheeler division, experienced significant growth, with sales of 6,778 units, marking an impressive 26% increase. The ‘Made in India’ BMW G 310 R, BMW G 310 RR, and BMW G 310 GS emerged as the favorites, commanding a combined market share of 88%.
