Despite Record-Breaking Sales In February, This Maruti Car Will Be Discontinued In India Next Month

In February 2024, domestic sales for the Ciaz stood at 481 units. Last month, the figure stood at 1,097 units, indicating a YoY increase of 128.07%. Production numbers for the Ciaz also witnessed a YoY increase of 97.95%, with 2,900 units in February 2025, compared to 1,465 units in the same month last year. Exports for the Ciaz, however, witnessed a YoY decline of 7.83%.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: Why Is It Getting Discontinued?

According to a media report, Maruti Suzuki has decided to discontinue the Ciaz due to low sales. The declining sales of the executive sedan have been attributed to the growing popularity of SUVs. Though Maruti Suzuki has not made any official statement in this regard, the lack of any update while the competition brings in new-gen models (Honda City and Hyundai Verna) indicates that Maruti may be wrapping up production of the Ciaz after all.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: Engine Specifications

The Ciaz is available with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a mil-hybrid system. The engine cranks out 103 hp and 138 Nm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic. The ARAI mileage figures for the Ciaz stand at 20 km/l.

The Ciaz is available in three variants: Sigma, Delta, and Delta AT. Prices start from Rs 9.41 lakh and go up to Rs 11.11 lakh (ex-showroom).
