First Ducati Desmo450 MX Rolls Off Production Line: Will It Come To India Soon?

Ducati has officially started production of the Desmo450 MX, its first motocross bike, at the Borgo Panigale factory. The manufacturer, known for its iconic superbikes like the Panigale V4 R and XDiavel, hosted a special event to celebrate this milestone. Although not yet officially confirmed by the Italian brand, there is a strong possibility that the Desmo450 MX will debut in India, given Ducati’s history of introducing all its high-end superbikes to the Indian market.

The Desmo450 MX is powered by a 449.6cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 62.62 horsepower and 53.5 Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a 5-speed gearbox that features an up-shift-only quick shifter. Ducati’s first motocross bike features an aluminium welded frame made from cast, forged, and extruded components. At the front, you will find fully adjustable Showa USD forks, while the rear is equipped with a fully adjustable monoshock setup, also from Showa. The Desmo450 MX offers 310 mm of front wheel travel and 301 mm of rear wheel travel.

The Desmo450 MX has a seat height of 970 mm, and it weighs 104 kg. It is the first motocross bike to offer a traction control system. Additional onboard technology includes multiple riding modes, engine brake control, and Ducati’s fall detection system.
