Hero MotoCorp dispatched 5,58,216 motorcycles and scooters in February 2026, marking 44% year-on-year growth compared to 3,88,068 units in February last year. According to VAHAN registration data, which reflects vehicles actually registered by customers, Hero recorded 4,58,346 registrations in February 2026, an 18% growth over the same month last year, but the data excludes Telangana, as of March 1, 2026.

Scooters And Commuter Bikes

A big part of this surge has come from the scooter segment as Hero’s refreshed models like the Xoom and Destini have found strong acceptance among urban buyers looking for practicality with a touch of modern styling. Scooter dispatches rose sharply to 58,460 units in February 2026, up from 35,756 units last year.

At the same time, the 100cc to 125cc motorcycle segment continues to anchor volumes. These are the everyday commuter bikes that power India’s small towns and cities. Affordable, fuel-efficient and easy to maintain, they remain the first choice for millions. Motorcycles registered 4,99,756 units in February 2026, compared to 3,52,312 units in February 2025.

Hero’s electric mobility arm, VIDA, is also picking up as the brand recorded 12,514 VAHAN registrations in February 2026 and achieved a threefold increase in market share compared to last year. For a market that is still evolving, this shows rising trust in electric two-wheelers. With fuel prices fluctuating and awareness growing, more consumers are considering EVs as a practical alternative.

Global Markets

Hero’s exports grew by approximately 34%, reaching 41,248 units in February 2026, up from 30,772 units a year ago. This double-digit growth across international markets reflects increasing acceptance of Hero’s premium portfolio beyond India.

Domestic dispatches registered 5,16,968 units, while year-to-date (YTD) FY26 totals reached 58,70,636 units, comfortably ahead of last year’s 53,49,583 units for the same period.

India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer is not just defending its leadership, but it is expanding it. Strong commuter demand, rising scooter preference, growing EV adoption and healthy exports together paint a picture of a company accelerating confidently into the future.
