Hero Opens Bookings For Its Most-Powerful Motorcycle Yet

Hero launched the Xtreme 250 R in India at the Auto Expo 2025. The quarter-litre motorcycle first broke cover at EICMA 2024. Priced at Rs 1.79 lakh (ex-showroom), the Xtreme 250 R is the most powerful motorcycle Hero has made yet. The homegrown two-wheeler maker claims it to be the fastest in the segment. Bookings for the Xtreme 250 R were scheduled to start last month, and deliveries are to begin in March 2025. However, the timelines were pushed ahead. A month later, Hero officially opened the bookings for the Xtreme 250 R.

The Xtreme 250 R is powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 30 hp and 25 Nm. The engine pairs a 6-speed gearbox. Hero claims the Xtreme 250 R can sprint from 0 to 60 km/h in 3.2 seconds.

The Xtreme 250 R uses a steel trellis frame. At the front, it rides on 43 mm USD forks and at the back, there is a gas-charged monoshock with 6-way pre-load adjustment. Stopping power comes from a 320 mm single disc at the front with a 230 mm single disc at the back. The Xtreme 250 R is equipped with dual-channel ABS with 2 modes.

This quarter-litre street bike has LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, and an LED taillamp. It also has LED winkers with a hazard function. The Xtreme 250 R has a Bluetooth-enabled LCD dashboard.
