Hero Vida VX2 Electric Scooter Launching With Battery Subscription Model

Hero MotoCorp’s EV arm, Vida, is all set to launch its next electric scooter, the Vida VX2, on July 1, 2025, introducing a new twist to how Indians might soon own EVs. Unlike traditional ownership models, the VX2 will debut with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan: a subscription-based approach that lets buyers pay for the battery separately from the scooter.

This move is aimed at bringing down the upfront cost of electric two-wheelers, a key factor that often discourages potential buyers. Under this model, users can choose from flexible subscription plans. It also means less hassle when it comes to battery maintenance and replacement, since those responsibilities fall under the subscription.

The VX2 will be positioned as a budget-friendly alternative to the higher-end Vida V2. While both scooters will share some internal hardware, the VX2 will go for a simpler, more practical design. Expect drum brakes instead of discs, a smaller TFT display, and a single seat setup. With this launch, the brand is eyeing competition like the Bajaj Chetak 3001 and Ather 450S.
