Honda Activa Electric Launch Likely: All we know so far

Motorcycle and recently revealed its EV roadmap in . Along with that, the brand also confirmed that they will launch two EVs in FY24 (April 2023 – March 2024), out of which the is most likely on the cards.

has developed a completely new platform from the ground up called – Platform E. It will serve as the foundation for a variety of EV models, which will be available with both fixed and swappable battery types.

The manufacturer has also initiated which will cater to the demand of the electrification age. The two new EVs that HMSI will launch in FY24 will be part of this project. The first product will equip a fixed battery type, while the second will utilize a swappable battery type, i.e. Honda Mobility Power Pack e. These battery packs are already being used in collaboration with other commercial OEMs.

To cater to this new form of vehicle, Honda will have a dedicated manufacturing facility called Factory-E at its Narsapura Plant in Karnataka. It will exclusively focus on EV production.

Workshop for Honda’s future EVs: Workshop E

To ensure a comfortable experience and a high-quality journey, Honda announced that it plans to set battery-swapping stations at its existing 6000+ touchpoints across the country. Eventually, down the line, some of the existing touchpoints will be transformed into Workshop ‘E’. This exclusive set will house HEID battery exchangers and mini battery exchangers for swappable battery types and charging cables for fixed battery types.

Moreover, the HMSI also plans to leverage from the overall existing ecosystem by building battery-swapping stations at petrol pumps, metro stations, etc. With this roadmap, Honda aims to reach one million EV production by 2030.
