Hyundai Motor India has revealed its sales figures for August 2024. Based on the announcement by the South Korean automaker, they have registered total sales of 63,175 units in August 2024. This consisted of 49,525 units sold in the domestic market, which translates to a growth of 8 percent compared to the dispatches during the same period last year. Meanwhile, the exports stood at 13,650 units which is a decline when compared to 17,605 units dispatched last year.
These numbers represent the brand’s strategy to focus on the domestic market. These sales are supported by models like Hyundai Exter, Venue, and Creta, contributing to about 67 percent of the total sales.
Commenting on HMIL sales, Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer, HMIL said, “SUVs, led by models like CRETA, VENUE and EXTER remain a key growth driver for HMIL in 2024 with 66.8% contribution to domestic sales. We are soon going to launch the bold new 6 and 7-seater SUV, Hyundai ALCAZAR and we are confident of strong festive season response to this new launch.”
Meanwhile, the brand is planning on launching the facelift version of the Hyundai Alcazar SUV in the Indian market. Based on the recently released teasers, the brand has made significant changes to the upcoming SUV when compared to the previous version. These changes can be seen in the form of major design changes which give the SUV a new aesthetic appeal.
Adding to it the brand has revamped the interiors of the car while simultaneously extending the feature list. Furthermore, the brand has added multiple segment-first features to the mix to further improve it’s appeal for the consumers. Specifically, the automaker has added segment-first features like a magnetic pad on the driver’s console, a second-row wireless charger, multi-language UI support with 10 regional languages, and 10 ambient sounds of nature.
Scheduled to launch in September, the SUV will be a major contender competing against models like Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector, Tata Safari, and others in the same segment.
