Hyundai Motor India’s Venue bags five-star Bharat NCAP rating in safety push

India’s growing focus on found a fresh marker on Monday as said its all-new and Hyundai Venue N Line have secured a under the , underscoring the company’s push to bring advanced protection features into the mass market.

The certification was presented by Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, who said, “Congratulations to Hyundai Motor India Limited on achieving 5-Star Bharat NCAP safety rating for both adult and child occupant for their recently launched Hyundai VENUE and VENUE N Line. This achievement reflects Hyundai’s strong commitment to enhancing vehicle safety in line with Indian road conditions and evolving customer expectations, while making advanced safety technologies more accessible to a broader segment of the market.”

Hyundai said the models delivered strong performance across crash test parameters, including a best-in-segment adult occupant protection score of 31.147, while also offering robust child occupant protection. Built on an enhanced global K1 platform, the vehicles feature a reinforced structure designed to improve crash resilience.

The new Venue line-up comes equipped with more than 65 safety features, including 33 standard features across all variants, highlighting a broader industry shift toward embedding safety as a baseline offering rather than a premium add-on.

These include six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, surround view monitor and all four-disc brakes, along with Hyundai’s SmartSense Level 2 ADAS suite featuring 21 driver-assistance technologies.

The rating comes at a time when India’s compact SUV segment is witnessing intense competition, with buyers increasingly factoring in safety alongside price and features. Regulatory frameworks such as Bharat NCAP are also beginning to play a more prominent role in shaping consumer perception and purchase decisions.

The all-new Venue has already seen strong market traction, with Hyundai clocking over 100,000 bookings since launch and garnering multiple industry awards.
