has upped its game and become one of key auto manufacturers in the past decade. Building on its global success Hyundai introduced the retro Ioniq 5 last year and it was launched in the Indian market in the beginning of this year. Taking this tradition forward Hyundai showcased the concept coupe at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Lake Como, Italy last week.
Retro vibes are in, the new generation is resonating with the old school vibes more than ever before be it watches, sneakers or clothing. This trend is reciprocating in the automotive industry as well and Hyundai is one manufacturer that is staying up with this trend Hyundai first showcased and introduced the retro styled EV, the Ioniq 5 last year and have now showcased the retro coupe, 74 in Italy.
The N Vision 74 embodies the looks of the legendary Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro’s 1974 Pony car concept. Hyundai has amalgamated the future with the past with the N Vision 74 concept coupe. The Hyundai N Vision 74 is a concoction of the futuristic hydrogen fuel cell technology and retro car looks. We all are coming to a common consensus that hydrogen has the potential to be the fuel for the future and we all definitely love the car design of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. When put together well with a bit of technical trickery this recipe has a serious potential to take over the car world.
Focusing on the Hyundai N Vision 74 for now, it boasts the capability to be recharged within 5-minutes! This could change the fate of EVs as high charging time is among the top drawbacks for EVs. Hyundai has equipped this car with two independent electric motors on the rear wheels producing 670.69 bhp and it can go from 0 to 100 kmph in under 4 seconds. Hyundai however hasn’t revealed the torque figures for this car.
To look at the overall picture Hyundai has showcased the N Vision 74 concept coupe at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Lake Como, Italy. It is a quick and powerful twin electric motor rear-wheel-drive EV with retro looks powered by hydrogen. The big question is, can this classic and futuristic concept car from Hyundai transcend from its concept phase into production?
