I-Day traffic: Delhi borders to be sealed for trucks, checks at Kalindi Kunj, Chilla

NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: The entry of commercial vehicles will be restricted from Noida and Ghaziabad towards Delhi from the evening of August 12 till August 15. In Noida, these vehicles will be guided to take a U-turn on Kalindi Kunj, DND Flyway and Chilla border to take Noida Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE).
Traffic inspector of Noida Ashutosh Singh said, traffic diversion is an annual exercise.
“There will be restrictions on commercial vehicles from 10pm on Saturday till Sunday afternoon owing to rehearsal for Independence Day. Similarly, traffic restrictions will be put in place from 10pm on Monday till the Independence Day celebrations are complete on Tuesday,” he said, adding that vehicles involved in essential services will be exempted from this restriction.
Traffic police teams will be deployed on various roads to guide the motorists. Noida traffic police have also issued a helpline number – 9971009001.
Similar traffic enforcement will be put in place on all commercial vehicles entering Delhi from Ghaziabad. The restrictions will be placed from 8pm on Saturday on vehicles entering from NH-9 via UP Gate, Dabur trisection to Maharajpur, Mohan Nagar to Seemapuri, Bhopura border, Loni Border and Khajuri Pusta road.
Ramanand Kushwaha, additional DCP (traffic), Ghaziabad told TOI that police have made a special plan to restrict commercial vehicles on Delhi-Meerut Expressway (DME).

“An enforcement team will stop these vehicles at ABES college on DME. Traffic police will ensure that the diversion takes place smoothly,” he added.
