Kia Carens Facelift To Be Called ‘Clavis’, Launch On May 8th

has officially revealed the name of its new product – . For the uninitiated, it is what everybody has been calling the facelift, however, it will be a standalone product sold alongside the Carens MPV in India. A similar strategy to what has done with its Ertiga and the XL6. The company has now also rolled out its official teaser ahead of the May 8th launch.

Kia Clavis: What is this about?

The upcoming Kia MPV has been in the past – hinting at what the new Kia will be all about. Sharing similar footprint as the Carens, the Clavis will make itself stand apart with the spruced up exterior design and cabin, along with all the bells and whistles Kia could fit in.

Another highlight of the new Clavis is going to be the Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), as confirmed by the teaser video (above). The suite is expected to offer cutting-edge features such as autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and more.

In comparison to the Carens, both the spy shots and the teaser video highlight several significant design enhancements., including newly styled dual-tone alloy wheels, LED tail-lamps, a full-width LED light bar, and vertically positioned LED headlamps. Additional features such as dual-tone exterior mirrors, roof rails, and a sunroof further elevate its aesthetic appeal. The exterior updates also suggest significant revisions to the front and rear fascias, complemented by a redesigned front grille that aligns with Kia’s evolving design language.

As far as the launch plans and pricing is concerned, Kia will be displaying this product on May 8th. It is going be slightly higher up in terms of pricing and placement when compared to Carens which currently retails from Rs 10.60 Lakh (ex-showroom).
