announced today that they commence the bookings for the EV6 premium SUV in from April 15 onwards. The brand commenced its electrification journey with the launch of the EV6 last year, and in just 7 months, it managed to deliver the product to over 432 customers. The number of cars that the brand ended up delivering was four times more than the originally planned numbers for the Indian market.
Along with that, the EV6 has also won a slew of coveted awards. It was awarded the “Green Car of the Year” award from ICOTY, “North American Premium Utility Vehicle of the Year”, “2022 European Car of the Year”, “2022 Korean Car of the Year”, “2022 Car of the Year & SUV of the Year” at the .
“We are thrilled with the response to our first premium EV offering, the EV6, which was established itself as a design and technology marvel and has won multiple awards since its launch,” said Tae-Jin Park, MD & CEO, Kia India.
“For this year, we are focussing on importing more products to cater to the audiences who couldn’t get their hands on the premium car last year by expanding our dealer network,” he added
The EV6 is built on ‘s dedicated Electric- Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). Some of the notable features of this electric platform include ultra-fast DC charging, vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, and a flat-floor interior.
The cabin of the EV6 comes fitted with sustainable-friendly material, and the EV6 also comes equipped with several advanced drivers assist functions as well.
As for Kia’s charging network is concerned, the company installed its first fastest 240kWh charger in August, 22’. It now plans to expand its EV dealer footprint from 15 select dealerships across 12 cities at the time of the launch to 60 outlets across 44 cities. This also includes its 150 kW high-speed charger network from the existing 15 dealerships to all 60 outlets.
The Kia EV6 is available in two variants – GT Line and priced at Rs 60.95 lakh and Rs 65.95 lakh, respectively.
