KTM 690 Rally Looks Ready for Production

  • KTM 690 Rally spotted testing
  • Based on the existing 690 Enduro R
  • Official debut expected later this year

KTM is preparing a new adventure motorcycle, likely to be called the 690 Rally, which is expected to join its global lineup soon. The model has been spotted testing in Austria and appears to be in the final stages of development.

The upcoming 690 Rally is based on the KTM 690 Enduro R and uses the same chassis along with KTM’s 693cc LC4 single-cylinder engine. In the Enduro R, this motor produces 79bhp and 73Nm, making it one of the most powerful production single-cylinder engines currently on sale.

Visually, the motorcycle takes inspiration from KTM’s Dakar Rally machines. It gets a tall rally-style windscreen, long-travel suspension, knobby tyres, and slim bodywork. Spy images also reveal a larger fuel tank than the Enduro R’s 13-litre unit, likely around 16-18 litres, which should improve long-distance capability. Suspension hardware includes a fully adjustable 48mm WP front fork, while braking duties are handled by a single disc at both ends.

The test bike also features a TFT display, split fuel filler arrangement, and a two-piece seat with pillion footrests, suggesting KTM is positioning it as a lightweight adventure tourer rather than a pure rally machine. Although KTM has not confirmed an official debut date, the production-ready test mule hints at an unveiling before the end of 2026.
