The Maruti Suzuki Dzire has sold over 30 lakh units in India and has cemented its reputation as the country’s highest-selling sedan. In 2025, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire also became India’s highest-selling passenger vehicle in the country, selling over 2.14 lakh units in the calendar year. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire was first introduced to the Indian market in 2008. Since then, the model has undergone four generations. According to industry sales data, the Dzire has also managed to end the calendar year 2025 as the best-selling car in India with over 2.14 lakh units sold in the calendar year. This is a testament to the fact that the current market trends notwithstanding, the compact sedan has been a successful formula.

Another factor that has a significant impact on car sales is the efficiency of the car. The current model has a fuel efficiency rating of 24.79 km/l for the petrol manual variant as well as 33.73 km/kg for the CNG variant. This puts the car in the top tier for efficiency in the sedan class. This is a significant factor for India due to the cost-conscious nature of the population.
