The British sports car manufacturer, McLaren is working on expanding its presence in the Indian market. Taking a step forward in this direction, the brand has launched the 750S in India. The new performance-oriented vehicle is a successor to the 720S of the brand and comes at a price of Rs 5.91 crore (ex-showroom). The car in India will be sold as a fully imported model and is available in Coupe and Spider versions. It is to be noted that the car made its debut in the international market in April last year.
The is based on a carbon fibre monocoque. However, this is not the only lightweight element used in the model. It also gets carbon fibre-shelled racing seats. The company also claims that the model has the lightest wheels ever fitted as standard. All of this brings down the dry weight of the car to 1,277 kg, which is 30 kg less than its predecessor. Additionally, the vehicle undercuts its closest competitor by 193 kg. The car gets a design well-optimized for performance with an active carbon fibre rear wing which is 20 percent bigger than the one on 720s.
Additionally, the British hypercar is fitted with lighter springs that are 4 percent stiffer at the back and 3 percent softer up front. Furthermore, a button on the dashboard allows for the quick activation of the suspension lift feature, which can be activated in just 4 seconds. All of this put together contributes to improving the performance of the car on tough turns.
The 750S is equipped with a powerful 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine that can produce up to 740 bhp and a torque output of 800Nm. This is more powerful than the legendary P1. All of this put to use can propel the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, and from 0 to 200 km/h in 7.2 seconds (7.3 seconds for the Spider version). This power unit is paired with a 7-speed transmission.
