Mercedes-Benz Confirms India-Spec CLA Electric Price, Range And More

After much anticipation surrounding the arrival of its first electric coupe sedan, Mercedes-Benz India has now confirmed key details about the new CLA Electric, which has been configured for India. We now have details highlighting the new EV’s variants, range, price and delivery timelines. The new CLA Electric will be a significant launch for the brand as it will act as the entry-level electric vehicle in India, by Mercedes-Benz. It will also be one of 12 car launches that the brand has planned for 2026 in the domestic market.

2026 Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric Variants:

The automaker has now confirmed that the new CLA Electric will be available in two different variants. These will include the CLA 250+ Long Range (LR) and an India-specific CLA 200 Standard Range (SR) variant. Mercedes-Benz says that the decision to bring in the CLA 200 was taken after considering customer feedback.

While battery pack capacity has not been confirmed yet, Mercedes-Benz claims that the CLA 250+ LR will have a range of 792 km on a full charge. It will also be more visually exclusive as it will come with the AMG Line exterior and interior kit. On the other hand, the CLA 200 SR will have a range of 542 km on a full charge and will get the ‘Progressive Line’ styling package, giving it a wider and more balanced appeal.

CLA Electric Gets Up To 729 Km Range

New Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric Prices In India:

According to Mercedes-Benz India, the new CLA 200 SR will have a tentative price of Rs 55 lakh ex-showroom and the long-range CLA 250+ will be tentatively priced at Rs 59 lakh ex-showroom. The brand has confirmed tentative prices only at this point, as they are subject to forex rates during the launch in mid-April 2026.

Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric Pre-Booking Amount And Deliveries:

The automaker has further confirmed that the pre-booking amount for the CLA 250+ and CLA 200 will be Rs 1.50 lakh and that customers who pre-book the EV will also get a complimentary Wall Box charger that has a charging capacity of 22 kW.

Furthermore, deliveries for the 2026 CLA Electric are expected to start shortly after the official launch in mid-April 2026. Customers of the CLA 250+ Long Range will start getting their cars by the end of April 2026 and the CLA 200 Standard Range deliveries will begin in June 2026.

With a tentative ex-showroom price of Rs 59 lakh for its top-end CLA 250+, the electric coupe will be significantly more affordable than the existing entry-level EV from the brand, which is the EQA, which is priced at Rs 67.20 lakh ex-showroom. However, the CLA EV gets the advanced 800V electric architecture and the latest equipment from Mercedes-Benz onboard.
