Mercedes‑Benz has launched the all-new V‑Class in India at an introductory price of Rs 1.40 crore, calling it a “private suite on wheels.” Luxury cars in India are changing as buyers today do not just want speed or a big engine, but they want space, comfort and privacy.

The new V‑Class is available in two versions which are the diesel V300d and for the first time in India, a petrol V300. What makes this launch even more important is that Mercedes‑Benz will start local production of the V‑Class in India.

The V‑Class is a very luxurious and spacious van designed for rich families, business leaders and celebrities who want to travel together in comfort. It is extra long, measuring 5,370 mm in length, which means there is a lot of room inside. It comes with a 6‑seat layout, giving each passenger plenty of personal space.

The second row offers special “first-class” seats and these seats come with ventilation, massage functions and calf support. There is also wireless charging for phones. Even the third row gets ventilated seats which is something that is not common in this segment. The front seats are also electrically adjustable and ventilated.

Under the bonnet, the petrol engine produces 228 bhp and also gets mild-hybrid support for better efficiency. The diesel engine produces 233 bhp. Both versions come with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The V‑Class also features AIRMATIC air suspension, which has been specially tuned for Indian road conditions. This helps the vehicle glide smoothly even on rough roads.

Inside the cabin, luxury continues with 64-colour ambient lighting, a Burmester surround sound system with 15 speakers, automatic climate control and multiple wellness modes under the ENERGIZING Comfort programme. The electric sliding doors make it easy to enter and exit.

Safety is also a big focus as the V‑Class comes with seven airbags as standard. It also gets advanced driver assistance systems like Active Distance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist and a 360-degree camera. These features help make driving safer and more relaxed.

Bookings are now open with a token amount of Rs 5 lakh. Existing Mercedes customers will get priority delivery. With the new V‑Class, Mercedes‑Benz is not just launching another luxury vehicle, but it is creating a new space in India’s luxury car market.
