MG To Launch This Electric Vehicle In India Next Week: To Get More Range Than Windsor EV

MG Motors has announced that it will launch the Windsor Pro in India on May 6, 2025. The brand has released a teaser image of the upcoming electric vehicle (EV), suggesting that it will come equipped with a larger battery pack than the current model, which will potentially offer an extended range. The teaser also indicates that the Windsor Pro will include more features and enhanced safety compared to the existing model.

MG Windsor: Powertrain

The current version of the MG Windsor features a single-motor, front-wheel-drive configuration. The electric motor produces 136 hp and 200 Nm of peak torque. Being an electric vehicle, it comes with a single-speed transmission. The Windsor comes with a 38 kWh battery pack that promises a range of 332 km on one charge. Windsor’s battery pack can sustain a peak charging speed of up to 44 kWh and comes with a CCS2-type charging connector.

MG Windsor: Charging Times

The 38 kWh battery pack on the Windsor can be juiced up from 0 to 100 % in 15 hours when connected to a 5.5 kW power source. The charging time comes down to 7.5 hours when connected with a 7.4 kWh charger. If connected to a 50 kW power source, Windsor’s battery pack can be charged from 0 to 80% in 55 mins.

MG Windsor: Variants And Prices

The Windsor is available in three variants: Excite, Exclusive, and Essence. Prices start from Rs 13.99 lakh and go up to Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Windsor is also available with a BaaS (Battery as a Service) option. This brings down the price of this EV to 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the entry-level variant.
