MG Windsor EV To Come With Massive 15.6-Inch Infotainment Touchscreen; Bigger Than Hector

JSW MG Motor India is set to launch the Windsor EV in the Indian market on September 11. Before the official launch event, the brand has been building up anticipation by revealing the details of the vehicle. To begin with, the brand gave a sneak peek at the exterior design of the EV followed by revealing slight details of the cabin. Now, the brand has revealed the size of the infotainment screen that the car will be equipped with.

As per the latest announcement, the dashboard will provide space for a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The brand is calling it the “Grandview Touch Display” and claims that it is the largest in the segment. It is to be noted that the screen is bigger than the one offered in MG Hector which is a 14-inch screen. As per the automaker, it will enhance the in-car experience by transforming the EV into “a hub of entertainment, gaming, and learning, whenever it is stationary.”

With this screen, we can expect the car to have features like wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, 360-degree camera, cabin modes, and more. Adding to it, the brand will equip the vehicle with a panoramic sunroof which the brand is calling “Infinity View Glass Roof”. Furthermore, the brand earlier revealed that the car will have two rows. The seats in the second row will be upholstered in faux leather with honeycomb pattern stitching. It will also get a reclining feature and three-point seat belts. The passengers in the back will have a single AC vent.

The details about the battery for the Indian version are currently not specified, but the global Wuling Cloud EV (the vehicle that serves as the base for the Windsor EV) offers two battery choices. These choices consist of a 37.9kWh battery with a range of 360km and a 50.6kWh battery that provides a range of 460km on one charge. Both versions are equipped with a 134hp electric motor situated on the front axle. When fully depleted, the battery can be completely recharged using an AC charger in 7 hours. If a DC charger is used, the battery can be charged from 80 percent in just over 30 minutes.
