MG Windsor Pro EV Launched At Rs 17.49 Lakh, Goes Up To 449 Km On Single Charge

has announced the launch of the new at Rs 17.49 Lakh (ex-showroom). The company said that this price is valid only for the initial 8,000 bookings and may increase after that. The ‘BaaS’ option for the Windor Pro has been kept at Rs 12.49 Lakh (ex-showroom). For the record, the same option for the standard Windsor EV starts from Rs 9.99 Lakh (ex-showroom). The new ‘Pro’ option brings along several new updates including a bigger battery pack, Level 2 ADAS safety suite and new cosmetic updates. The company will open the order books for the new EV on May 8th.

Visually, the Windsor EV Pro retains most of its predecessor’s design elements. It continues with its distinct MPV-hatchback crossover styling, featuring a split headlamp setup with integrated LED light bars at both ends, retractable flush door handles, and expansive glass areas that provide a spacious appearance. While major cosmetic changes have been avoided, the alloy wheel design update offers a subtle but refreshed look. MG has also expanded the colour palette with the addition of three new exterior shades: Celadon Blue, Glaze Red, and Aurora Silver.

A standout enhancement in the Windsor EV Pro is the inclusion of a 52.9kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. This marks a substantial improvement over the 38kWh unit in the standard Windsor EV, which is certified for an ARAI-tested range of 332 kilometres. With the larger battery, the Windsor EV Pro now boasts a claimed range of 449 kilometres on a single charge.

Despite the increase in battery capacity, the powertrain remains unchanged. The Windsor EV Pro continues to produce 136hp and 200Nm of torque, and maintains a front-wheel-drive configuration. For charging, the vehicle is equipped with a 7.4kW AC charger, which takes approximately 9.5 hours for a full charge. Additionally, it supports 60kW DC fast charging, capable of recharging the battery from 20 to 80 percent in just 50 minutes.

In terms of features, the Windsor EV Pro introduces several notable upgrades. Key among them are the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging technologies, allowing the EV to power external devices or charge other electric vehicles. The new variant also comes equipped with ventilated front seats, a powered tailgate, and newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels resembling those seen on the MG Hector. Inside, the cabin benefits from revised upholstery and premium faux wood inserts across various panels, enhancing overall ambience and comfort.
