Automotive manufacturer Maruti Suzuki appears to be working on a brand-new three-row family utility vehicle. Although speculations associate its internal designation with the name 'YMC', a heavily camouflaged multi-purpose vehicle was recently seen undergoing road trials locally.

Exterior Design And Styling

At the front, the vehicle features a short hood equipped with what appears to be a connected daytime running light arrangement. The headlight enclosures display a split configuration, and distinct fog-lamp cavities are absent. Similar to the e Vitara, the YMC seems to feature active air vents designed to open for battery pack temperature regulation as required.

When viewed from the side, the vehicle reveals a prolonged roofline. Moving toward the back, the shape is distinctly square, and the rear door shares certain design similarities with the Victoris.

Interior Features And Platform

An initial look inside the cabin reveals a dual-screen panel layout, resembling the setup found in the e Vitara. Underneath the vehicle, the same HEARTECT-E architecture may be employed for the YMC model.

Powertrain Expectations And Launch Timeline

While discussing specific powertrain details is premature at this stage, it is anticipated that the YMC will inherit the mechanical configuration of the e Vitara. Furthermore, the increased interior dimensions might facilitate the installation of an energy storage unit exceeding 61kWh within the floor assembly. It has been confirmed that the manufacturer's second electric vehicle will launch in 2027, and if the YMC serves as that second model, a debut can be anticipated during the first half of the following calendar year, though an official release schedule has not been announced yet.
