The National Highways Authority Of India (NHAI) has announced an extension to the deadline to update FASTag Know You Customer (KYC). Earlier, the deadline to update the details was January 31. However, in an announcement on the same day, it has been extended to February 29. The government organisation had urged all FASTag users to update their KYC details to continue using the services at the digital toll collection system. Failure to update the details will result in deactivation of the account.
NHAI is urging FASTag users to complete their KYC process in accordance with the Reserve Bank of India’s guidelines. This is a crucial step in ensuring the smooth operation of the FASTag system and streamlining the toll collection process. In addition, this campaign will help to facilitate a more seamless travel experience for commuters by enhancing traffic flow at toll plazas.
NHAI also launched the ‘One Vehicle, One FASTag’ campaign, which was meant to curb the usage of a single FASTag on multiple vehicles or the use of different FASTags on one vehicle. As per reports, the seven lakh accounts have been deactivated out of 1.27 crore accounts before January 31.
