No commercial vehicles allowed on PM route on Sunday, transport to be affected

Road Restrictions for PM’s Visit

Ghaziabad: Road restrictions and diversions are expected for PM Narendra Modi on Jan 5 to inaugurate the Delhi section of the first rapid rail transport system. Delhi bound traffic will be allowed entry through UP Gate and Meerut Road from 7 am of the day while traffic bound for Bhopura from capital will have to enter through Karand Gate roundabout.

PM’s Schedule and Rapid Rail Launch

Later in the day, the PM will arrive in the city in a Hindon IAF base to visit Sahibabad rapid rail station in order to launch a train to New Ashok Nagar in the capital through Anand Vihar. This 13km two station extension will elongate the working distance of India’s first semi high speed urban rail transport to 55kms and link the capital to Meerut South.

Municipal Commissioner’s Statement

Municipal commissioner Vikramaditya Singh Malik said that a cavalcade of the prime minister will proceed to Sahibabad rapid rail station from the airbase on Sunday. : The flag off is expected to be followed by a fast rail travel to Anand Vihar that PM is expected to embark on. From there he is to return to Sahibabad/and head back to the Hindon IAF base” added Malik.

Review of Arrangements

The UP chief secretary on Friday reviewed these arrangements through a video conferencing. Additional DM Gambhir Singh has been made the nodal officer for the visit.

Traffic Diversions

The traffic department issued a list of diversions on Friday that bans movement of all sorts of vehicles, including trucks, cars and cabs on a 13.5 km stretch from Hindon Air Force Station to Up Gate, through Mohan Nagar, from 7 am. While no vehicles will be allowed to move towards IAF base station from Karan Gate roundabout on Wazirabad road, Rotary round about through Nagdwar and Vaishali metro station on Madan Mohan Malviya Marg.

While commuters to transport most people from up gate and meerut road will move towards Delhi, vehicles approaching to IAF base from NOIDA or capital will head towards Ghaziabad moving into the karan gate. Random acts will be taken against the offenders. Traffic police and area police station cops: A total of 500 police force will be utilized to handle traffic,” additional DCP (traffic), Piyush Singh said.

Section 163 and Drone Restrictions

Section 163 of BNSS empowering the DM to give an order in urgent cases to remove nuisance or apprehended danger has also been imposed in the district. Kotwali, Madhuban Bapudham, Nandgram Sihani Gate, Indirapuram, Kaushambi, Sahibabad Link Road have also been declared no drone zones also. Police permits need to be acquired in case programme organisers or media persons, who want to operate drones.
