Police solve gas agency godown theft, arrest seven accused

Kanpur: Police on Saturday solved the major theft at the gas agency godown of SP MLA Amitabh Bajpai in Bilhaur, Kanpur with the arrest of seven accused involved in the theft. Stolen cylinders and vehicles were also recovered from the accused.It may be noted that on Tuesday night, thieves broke the lock of the godown of SP MLA Amitabh Bajpai’s gas agency, located in Deeppur village of Bilhaur, operating from Aryanagar, and stole a total of 137 gas cylinders by loading them onto a loader. The theft was discovered when employees arrived at the godown in the morning.

Police registered a report based on the complaint of the gas agency manager and launched a search for the thieves. The value of the cylinders was estimated at approximately Rs 5 lakh. As many as 127 filled 14 kg domestic gas cylinders, 7 empty cylinders, and 3 commercial cylinders of 19 kg were missing from the godown. TNN
