In a recent viral video circulating on the internet, Gautam Singhania is spotted cruising the streets of Mumbai in his new Maserati MC20. The eye-catching red-coloured coupe turns heads as Singhania confidently manoeuvres through the city’s bustling streets, accompanied by guards in a white Toyota Fortuner.
The Maserati MC20 was first unveiled in 2020, with initial plans for its Indian debut in 2022. However, due to unforeseen delays, the car’s arrival was pushed back, and it finally reached customers in May 2023. Singhania was one among the few privileged to get his hands on the beast.
The Italian beast houses a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged Nettuno petrol engine that churns out 630bhp of power and 730Nm of peak torque. The powertrain is mated with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The MC20 can do 0-100km/h in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 325km/h. The car extensively resorted to carbon fibre and other lightweight materials in the body, which helped to keep its kerb weight less than 1,500kg.
The interior is minimal and is draped in carbon-fibre Alcantara or leather and has features like a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, drive mode selector, a wireless smartphone holder, infotainment controls and a few other small functions.
The Maserati MC20 has a starting price of Rs 3.70 crore (ex-showroom, India) and comes in six captivating colour options – Nero Essenza (Black), Rosso Vincente (Red), Grigio Mistero (Grey), Giallo Genio (Yellow), Bianco Audace (White), and Blu Infinito (Blue).
