Simple Arrive Spied Testing for the First Time

  • Arrive Name Trademarked by the Brand
  • More Family-oriented than the One
  • Likely to Be More Affordable than the One S

Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler startup, Simple Energy, seems to be readying a new e-scooter, and a camouflaged test mule of it was recently spied testing for the first time. And going by Simple’s recently filed trademark IP, this scooter will be called the Arrive. While details related to its launch timeline and availability aren’t available as of now, the spy shots give away a few details about the scooter.

The Arrive seems to be completely different from the existing Simple One in terms of intent. The former comes off as a more family-oriented scooter, instead of a sporty one. The design, for instance, is more conservative with bigger and curvier body panels. Moreover, the seat and floorboard look more spacious, and the equipment set seems more traditional, such as the incorporation of dual springs and a drum brake at the rear, unlike the One’s monoshock and disc. However, the Arrive is clearly running the same 12-inch alloy wheels and front disc as the One.

Adding to the Arrive’s practicality quotient is the cubby hole at the front. While the instrument cluster is not clearly visible in the spy shots, it should be the same TFT screen as the One. As for the core essentials, the Arrive might come with the same battery pack options as the One, which is available in 3.7kWh and 5kWh variants. Moreover, given the fact that the Arrive looks less sporty and performance-focused than the One, the former might offer a lower top speed and longer battery range.

Going by the seemingly more practical and family-centric persona of the Simple Arrive, it will probably be the most affordable electric scooter in the company’s line-up. And considering the existing entry-level model, the One S, costs Rs. 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the Arrive should be around Rs. 10,000-15,000 more affordable.
