, the leading passenger EV maker in India, is readying the electric version of its popular micro-SUV. While the prototype of the has already been spotted doing rounds on the public roads several times in the past, a fresh spy shot has now brought to light an intriguing detail. The spotted electric vehicle is seen equipped with a charging slot discreetly integrated into its front bumper.
Charging Slot on Front Bumper
A distinguishing feature revealed by the recently captured spy shots is the placement of the charging slot on the front bumper—a departure from the setup observed in existing Tata EV models.
Also, the Punch EV could use disc brakes on all four wheels along with exclusive design for alloy wheels for a distinctive appeal.
Inside the cabin, the Punch EV might adopt the stylish 2-spoke steering wheel design seen on the concept and, more recently, on the Nexon facelift. Previous sightings of a test mule suggest a 7-inch touchscreen, but it is plausible that Tata Motors could elevate the in-cabin experience by opting for the new 10.25-inch touchscreen now available on select models.
Underpinning the Punch EV is most likely to be the Tata’s ALFA platform, while the power source for the Punch EV will be Tata’s Ziptron powertrain. With a festive season launch on the horizon, the is gearing up to rival contenders in the market, including the Citroen eC3 (priced between Rs 11.50 lakh and Rs 12.43 lakh).
