Tesla Cybertruck Tow Hitch Durability Questioned In Torture Test Video By Youtuber

A YouTuber, WhistlinDiesel, has conducted a follow-up video to address concerns raised about the durability of the Tesla Cybertruck‘s tow hitch. In a previous video, the Cybertruck’s tow hitch snapped during a vehicle torture test, prompting speculation about the structural integrity of the aluminum composite used in its construction.

In the follow-up video, WhistlinDiesel subjected a Ford F-150 to a series of rigorous tests, including dropping it from 5 feet onto concrete blocks 100 times. While the F-150’s frame did bend after repeated drops, the tow hitch, receiver, and frame remained intact.

This result further raises questions about the durability of the Cybertruck’s tow hitch, particularly considering its higher price point and advertised towing capacity of 11,000 pounds. The YouTuber also claims to have received a photo of another Cybertruck that lost its tow hitch on the highway, reinforcing concerns about the issue.

Despite repeated attempts to contact Tesla for an official response to the initial torture test results, the YouTuber has not received a reply. The lack of a response from Tesla has contributed to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the Cybertruck’s tow hitch durability.

While the F-150’s performance in the durability tests provides some insight, further investigation is needed to fully understand the underlying causes of the Cybertruck’s tow hitch failure.
