Tesla Recalls Every Unit Of This EV Sold In Last 15 Months

has issued a major recall for the in the US. It affects every unit of the electric truck produced in the last 15 months. The recall was issued following an investigation by the EV maker into various reports by Cybertruck owners complaining about external trim pieces detaching while driving. All units of the Cybertruck manufactured between November 13, 2023, and February 27, 2025, will be covered.

The problem lies with the cant rail, a stainless steel trim piece that extends from the windshield to the back door along the roof. Tesla notes that this component relies entirely on structural adhesive for its attachment. Unfortunately, this adhesive can deteriorate over time due to environmental factors, compromising its ability to hold the cant rail in place securely.

Tesla To Fix Cybertruck Cant Rail Issue With Better Glue

Tesla will fix Cybertruck’s Cant Rail issue by using glue that will not wear easily due to environmental factors. To further reinforce the panel, a stud weld will be applied to the stainless steel panel. This will be clamped to the truck’s body using a nut.

The Cant Rail recall is not the first service campaign Tesla has issued for the Cybertruck. The EV has been plagued with recalls since deliveries began two years ago, with eight such recalls. However, several of the issues were fixed simply through a software patch.
