It is a growing trend between high-end motorcycles, to have the hardware of advanced riding features built into the bike but restricted via software. Several OEMs such as KTM, are now asking buyers to subscribe monthly or pay a one-time upfront cost to activate features such as traction control, quick shifter and more. In their official release, MV Agust has taken a clear stand against the new practice and suggested that these practices help competitors advertise lower prices for their models, but after full activation, they cost a lot more than what was marketed to customers. ‘MV Agusta, on the Enduro Veloce as well as on the entire line-up, takes a different approach. Every key feature is fully integrated and factory-installed from day one. No software unlocks. No electronic activation charges. No post-purchase upgrades. No additional workshop appointments.’, the manufacturer said in its statement. The new Enduro Veloce is priced at EU 19,900 in Italy, which is approximately Rs 21.22 lakh.
