This Once Popular Honda Motorcycle Witnesses Nearly 80% Sales Decline In February

Honda introduced an update for the SP 160 in December last year. It made its engine OBD 2B compliant and added several new features. However, the update hasn’t been able to attract new buyers to the 160cc motorcycle. In , YoY sales of the SP 160 fell by nearly 80%.

In February 2025, Honda sold 1,117 units of the SP 160 in India. This marks a YoY decline of 78.33% compared to February 2024, when Honda sold 5,155 units. The low sales of the SP 160 in February 2025 mean that the 160cc motorcycle also witnessed a MoM decline of 77.74%. SP 160’s sales in January 2025 were 5,019 units.

Honda SP 160: Engine Specifications

The Honda SP 160 is powered by a 162.71cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 13 hp and 14.8 Nm of peak torque. The engine pairs with a 5-speed transmission. The SP 160 promises an ARAI mileage of 65 km/l.

The SP 160 has a 4.2-inch TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, and is compatible with Honda’s Road Sync app. It offers features such as turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, and music playback. The SP 160 is also equipped with a USB Type-C charger.
