TN’s New Vande Bharat To Begin Chennai-Vijayawada Service From July 8 – Fast and Efficient

The Vande Bharat train has taken the country by storm with its sleek design, modern amenities, and lightning-fast speed. It is a true masterpiece of innovation and engineering excellence. A prime example of the “Make in India” initiative, this train marks a significant milestone in India’s transportation landscape.

Vande Bharat not only offers a world-class travel experience but also boosts connectivity and enhances the overall efficiency of the railway system. With a top speed of 180 km/h, this train is the current fastest train in India.

In a recent announcement, the Southern Railway will get a new Vande Bharat Express train, which will operate between Vijayawada and Chennai. The new service will be inaugurated virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 7.

According to the reports, the train is set to start its service on July 8. The semi-high-speed train will reduce the travel time between Chennai and Vijayawada to just six and a half hours, and this will be Tamil Nadu’s third Vande Bharat train in operation.

The train will have stops at Gudur, Renigunta, and Katpadi before halting at Chennai. The return is also via the same route. Vande Bharat trains are already in operation between Visakhapatnam and Secunderabad and between Secunderabad and Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh.

The officials from the Vijayawada Division Railway have requested the South Central Railway officials to run the new train through Renigunta junction to provide convenience to passengers traveling between Vijayawada and the popular pilgrimage destination of Tirupati.

Earlier, railway officials reported positive passenger response and significant footfall on these routes. Introducing the Vande Bharat Express will effectively handle overcrowding during peak periods.

Another Vande Bharat Express train, which will operate between Lucknow-Ayodhya-Gorakhpur, might also get flagged off on July 7. “We expect that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the train operation; however, we are yet to receive assent from the PMO office,” reported lANS.

The new Vande Bharat train on the Chennai-Vijayawada route is an exciting development for both states’ transportation infrastructure. It is a busy route, and the addition of this semi-high-speed train will help the passengers, especially during the pilgrimage season of Tirupati.
