Traffic diversion for protests in Bhopal today, plan your routes

Bhopal: A public gathering is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 10 April, between 2pm and 4pm at the Central Library campus in Mangalwara, in protest of the Waqf Board Act 2025. It will be led by MLA Arif Masood (Central Region), Bhopal. As such, Bhopal traffic police have issued a traffic and parking diversion plan to ensure smooth movement around the venue.
Parking Arrangements: Main guests’ vehicles will be parked behind the stage. Participants arriving from Shahjehanabad, Bhopal Talkies, and Karond will take the Alpana Trisection route, divert left from Bharat Talkies Bridge via Furniture Market, and park at the Railway Parcel Office ground. They will proceed to the venue on foot. Those coming from Jehangirabad, Talaiya, and Mata Mandir will reach Central Library directly, but their vehicles must be parked at the Parcel Office near Bharat Talkies. Participants from Itwara and Budhwara may park near the Shaheediya School campus or nearby wedding halls.
Traffic Diversions: Two-wheeler riders intending to travel from Lily Square to Hamidia Road should take the route via Kali Mandir, Char Batti Square, Budhwara, Moti Masjid, Sadar Manzil, Imami Gate, and Royal Market. Buses will not be allowed to operate between Old Police Control Room and Sangam Trisection during the protest. Prabhat Square-bound buses will be rerouted via Ratnagiri, Ayodhya Bypass, Bhanpur Bridge, Best Price Trisection, Karond Vegetable Market, and JP Bridge, eventually reaching Nadra Bus Stand. For access to Bhopal Railway Station (Platform No. 1) between 2pm and 4pm, travellers must use the route via Prabhat Square, 80 Feet Road, Ashoka Garden, and Bajaria Trisection.
Restrictions: All permitted heavy vehicles, medium vehicles, and commercial vehicles are strictly prohibited from using the Hamidia Road route via Police Control Room during the protest hours.
