Triumph Tracker 400 Launched in India at Rs. 2.46 Lakh

Triumph has launched the Tracker 400 in India, but in a 350cc avatar. The motorcycle is the first in Triumph’s lineup to be launched with the new downsized 350cc engine. It still carries the same looks and 400 badging as the international-spec Tracker 400. Here’s everything you need to know:

Triumph Tracker 400 Right Rear Three Quarter

The flat-tracker-inspired motorcycle is powered by a 350cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor producing 39.4bhp at 8750rpm and 32Nm at 7500rpm. Compared to the 400cc motor, this is a drop of 2bhp and 5.5Nm. The international-spec Tracker 400 had the same state of tune as the Thruxton 400, so we can expect the Thruxton 350 to produce similar power and torque figures.

Since GST 2.0 has come into effect, Triumph has been working on downsizing its 400cc motors to under 350cc. This is done to ensure competitive pricing in the Indian market, now that GST on motorcycles with engine capacity above 350cc are taxed at 40 percent, while sub-350cc motorcycles are taxed at 18 percent

Aside from the downsized motor, it looks the same from the outside. It even carries the same 400 badging, which we can also expect in other models in the new 350 lineup. The Tracker 400 stands out compared to the Speed 400 with its sportier looks and ergonomics. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the differences.
