Exciting news is coming from Volkswagen. The brand has announced that it will bring the Golf GTI and the Tiguan R-Line to India. Both these performance models will be launched here in the early part of the second quarter of 2025. Both these models will likely go on sale as CBU, sitting high up in the Volkswagen model line-up in our country.

The previous-gen Tiguan has been on sale in India since 2021. The model has been updated overseas and now includes a sportier R-Line version. Volkswagen will bring this spicier version to India. It is likely that the brand will also update the standard Tiguan ahead of that.
The Tiguan R-Line will likely feature a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine under its hood. It will be paired with a DSG automatic, sending power to all four wheels through Volkswagen’s 4Motion all-wheel drive system.

This would be the first time Volkswagen will bring the Golf GTI to India. Earlier, the brand introduced the Polo GTI here for a brief period. The hot hatchback comes with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 241 hp paired with a seven-speed DSG, sending power to the front wheels.
